Being held during 2017 & 2018, our 150th anniversary celebrations
will be held over the same time period from the laying
of our church's corner-stone on 18 May 1867
to the consecration of the church on 22 September 1868.

    An information evening in the Parish Hall officially launched our 150th anniversary programme. The opening service was attended by His Grace The Most Rev Dr Richard Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh, visiting clergy, sponsors, and local community.

  2. Favourite Hymns
    21
    An evening of 'Favourite Hymns' on Sunday 21 May 2017 officially commenced our 150th anniversary. 12 hymns selected by the parishioners of Christ Church were sung with great enthusiasm by the 200+ congregation. Musical accompaniment was provided by the talented Tullyvallen Silver Band.

  3. Garden Visit

    Parishioners William and Hilary McKelvey opened their 'Model Garden' at 7 Mount Charles North in Bessbrook to the public and almost 300 people availed of the opportunity to view this horticultural masterpiece. Many enjoyed teas in our Parish Hall and many also visited our church for a tour.

  4. Live Issue Concert
    16
    A sell-out concert featuring the country-gospel group 'Live Issue' was held in our Parish Hall on Saturday 16 September 2017. The 2 and a half hour event proved to be a very enjoyable night out which was truly enjoyed by all who attended.

  5. Harvest Services

    Our annual Harvest Celebrations were held in Christ Church on Sunday 22 October 2017. Holy Communion was held at 11.30am with the Sunday School pupils taking a leading role. Evening Prayer was held at 7.00pm. The Senior Choir performed an Anthem at both services.

  6. 1) Inter-church Table Quiz

    We will be hosting an inter-church table quiz in our Parish Hall on Saturday 28 October 2017 at 7.30pm. Local churches will be invited to attend - though if you wish your church to enter a team please come along, you're sure to be made very welcome.

  7. 2) Coach Trip to Londonderry

    The first of three visits to the three CoI Cathedrals will be held on Saturday 25 November 2017. This coach trip to St. Columb's Cathedral in Londonderry will be followed by Christmas shopping and an evening meal.

  8. 3) Christmas Carol Service

    The 150th celebrations continue with our much anticipated Christmas Carol Service. Held on Christmas Eve, Sunday 17 December 2017 at 7.00pm in Christ Church, this will bring our events in 2017 to an end, but only for a while - as our 150th celebrations continue into 2018.

    Aimed at our 18-35 year olds, Eternity Socials provide the entertainment in their own unique and enthusiastic way from 7.30pm - 11.00pm in our Parish Hall.

  10. 5) Palm Sunday in Armagh

    Our Parish will join with the parishioners in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh for Morning Worship on Palm Sunday 2018. Bus will leave the Parish Hall returning after a social lunch enjoyed by all.

    Our annual Easter celebrations will be held in Christ Church with a special 'Easter Bonnet' competition.

    This parish visit to St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin will finish our tour of the three Church of Ireland Cathedral's. Lunch and shopping will also be included.

    A fun-filled family focused trip to Carnfunnock Country Park, Larne with a well-earned BBQ to end the day before the bus journey home.

  14. 9) Flower Festival

    Our much anticipated Flower Festival will open to the public from 11.00am to 9.00pm in Christ Church with local schoolchildren providing some of the accompanying entertainment. Teas will be available in the adjoining Parish Hall. Groups and coach bookings most welcome with catering available.

    The Opening Service of the Flower Festival will be held in Christ Church at 7.00pm on Friday 21 September 2018.

    The Flower Festival continues on Saturday 22 September from 10.00am to 9.00pm. Teas will be available throughout the day in our adjoining Parish Hall. Group and coach bookings most welcome with catering available.

    Your final chance to view the magnificent floral displays on show as our Flower Festival draws to a close. The Church will be open from 2pm to 6.30pm for viewing.

    Our 150th anniversary celebrations will officially come to a close with this special Closing Dinner in a local venue on Thursday 8 November 2018.
